02. Step-by-Step Guide

Cowork requires a paid Claude subscription: Pro ($20/month), Max, Team, or Enterprise. The free tier does not include it.

Warnings & Limitations
- Desktop Cowork sessions don't sync across devices and stop if your machine sleeps or you close the app—there's no cloud continuity for local sessions.
- There's no team sharing for local Cowork Projects; use browser-based Claude Projects if you need shared workflows.
- The Computer Use feature (direct mouse/keyboard/screen control) is macOS only and in research preview as of July 2026.
- Web and mobile Cowork sessions are in beta and run remotely on Claude's servers rather than on your machine.
